Responsibilities
Provide, generate and maintain employee personal information and pay distributions.
Process employee commencements, movements, variations and terminations.
Process leave, salary and allowance payments, income tax and overpayments.
Ensure work is timely, accurate and in line with applicable industrial instruments, legislation and Department policies and procedures.
Requirements
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply policies, procedures, industrial instruments and legislation.
Demonstrated experience with computerised human resource management information systems or equivalent and the ability to perform pay calculations, ensuring accuracy of complex payroll data.

Notes
There are five Permanent and Temporary positions available in Brisbane CDB, Rockhampton and Townsville. Please indicate your type of role and location preference for this role on your application.
Process and calculate salary and allowance payments and other employee entitlements to a specified client group, inputting data into a computerised payroll system.
Provide accurate and timely information to clients when requested ensuring a clear understanding of entitlements and operating procedures.
Maintain the integrity of personnel records ensuring accuracy of all data recorded and maintaining confidentiality.
Contribute to the operations of a team of Payroll staff to ensure a high quality payroll service is provided to clients.
Contribute to a work environment of positive teamwork and quality customer focussed service delivery.
Engage in continuous learning and development to progress into more senior payroll roles.
Requirements
Previous experience in a role requiring accurate numeracy skills e.g. payroll, finance, banking.
Aptitude to read and understand procedures, employment legislation.
High level of customer focus and previous experience providing customer service.
Personal attributes to contribute positively and effectively within a team environment.
Organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
Demonstrated high level of commitment to the workplace e.g. attendance.
Good level of oral communication to enable information to be accurately relayed to clients and the ability to prepare clear written correspondence adhering to templates.
Willingness and potential to further develop career in payroll services.
Well-developed computer literacy.
An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.
